New Delhi: New Delhi: Within days of taking oath, chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are in the national capital to meet the top brass of BJP about the Cabinet formation and allocation of portfolios in their respective states.

All the three CMs - Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh, Bhajan Lal Sharma of Rajasthan and Vishnu Deo Sai of Chhattisgarh were accompanied by their two deputies each on their first visit to New Delhi after becoming chief ministers.

Sources said after their visit, former chief ministers -- Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhara Raje -- are also scheduled to hold meetings with the central leadership in the next few days.

BJP's top brass, comprising party chief JP Nadda, organisational secretary BL Santhosh and Union home minister Amit Shah, met the chief ministers separately at Nadda's residence and discussed the Cabinet formation with them. In all the three meetings, in-charges, presidents of all the three state units were also present.

Union ministers hailing from each state were also present in their respective meetings. Union ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Faggan Singh Kulaste were also present. According to sources, discussions were also held on the new state unit chiefs in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

The main issue discussed was the role of senior BJP leaders who contested the assembly polls in their respective states. Former Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Patel and BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who won the assembly polls, were also present in the meeting. Tomar and Patel had resigned from the Union Cabinet and also from the Lok Sabha after winning the assembly polls. Another issue that came up for discussion was how many of those who were ministers in previous governments of BJP in these states are to be retained in the new governments as the BJP has appointed three new faces in all three states. The BJP had fielded 18 MPs in the three states, of which 12 won the assembly polls.
