‘Never violated party position’: Tharoor on Congress differences over Operation Sindoor
New Delhi: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Saturday said he has never violated the party's official positions and asserted that he remains "unapologetic" about backing Operation Sindoor, which he described as the only issue on which he differed with the Congress.

Responding to reports of internal differences that led to his absence from a party meeting in Delhi on Friday, Tharoor said it was better to raise concerns directly with the leadership.

"At no stage have I violated any of the Congress' positions in Parliament. The only issue son which there has been a public disagreement on principle is Operation Sindoor, where I took a strong stand and remain unapologetic," Tharoor said while speaking at a literature festival in Kerala.

Explaining his support for Operation Sindoor, Tharoor said he had argued in a newspaper column after the Pahalgam incident that the attack "could not go unpunished".
