The Opposition requested the Deputy Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha PJ Kurien that they be allowed to express their grief over the earthquake.

Nepal quake: PM Narendra Modi donates a month’s salary to relief fund
NEW DELHI: PM Modi donated one month’s salary to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for assistance to those affected in India by the quake that devastated Nepal, an official statement said on Monday.

Also, members cutting across party lines expressed concern in the Rajya Sabha on Monday over the devastating quake in Nepal and suggested several measures, including donating from their MPLAD funds, or giving away one month’s salary as well as strengthening the National Disaster Management Authority.
