Nepal lauds India's medical grant to fight COVID-19
Nepalese Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has lauded India for providing Nepal with 30,000 PCR test-kits for Covid patients in what can be described as a goodwill gesture amid differences over a section of boundary.

Gyawali took to twitter to thank India for the medical logistics. “Sincere thanks to the Government of India for providing medical logistics and testing kits for 30,000 tests which were handed over to the Ministry of Health and Population today as a part of ongoing cooperation to fight the pandemic”, the Minister’s tweet read.

— Pradeep Gyawali (@PradeepgyawaliK) 1589698253000Indian envoy to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra on Sunday handed over Pathodetect COVID-19 Qualitative RT PCR Test Kits to Minister for Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal, on behalf of the Indian government.
“The consignment, as a gift from the people of India to people of Nepal, will enable Nepali Health Professionals to conduct PCR test on 30,000 people”, the Indian embassy said in a statement.
Earlier, Kwatra, on behalf of the Government of India, had handed over 23 tonnes of medicines to the Government of Nepal.
“In the current state of the pandemic in Nepal, gifting of medicines and test kits manifests continuing cooperation of leaders and people of two countries to prepare, act and fight together the global crisis”, the statement further reads.
The embassy reiterated that this initiative stems in regard to Prime Minister of India’s video conference with SAARC Leaders on March.
