Nepal foreign minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire calls on PM
NEW DELHI: Nepal's Minister for Home and Foreign Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire today called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and is understood to have briefed him about the current situation in the Himalayan nation.

He also held a meeting with External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid during which both the leaders discussed bilateral and regional issues.

Accompanied by senior officials from home and foreign ministries, Ghimire arrived here yesterday on a three-day visit.

This is his first official visit to India since the formation of the interim council of ministers in March last year.

Ghimire, a former bureaucrat, had played a key role in conducting the November 19 Constituent Assembly polls by providing intensified security despite boycott call by some fringe parties.

"This new feature will give weather forecasting of 4-5 days," said IMD DG Laxman Singh Rathore.
