Nepal has condemned the attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul that killed at least 41 people, including four Indians.

KATHMANDU: Nepal has condemned the attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul that killed at least 41 people, including four Indians.

"The Nepal Government strongly condemns the heinous act of terrorism," the Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement yesterday.

Nepal also expressed sympathy to the victims of the attack and their families. Venkatesh Rao, Counsellor, Publicity and Information, who was killed in the July 7 attack, had served in the Indian Embassy here from 2000 to 2003, and was popular among the Nepalese political and journalistic community.

The Indian Embassy has called a condolence meeting in his remembrance here this afternoon, officials said.
