NEET 'paper leak' turned into a political slugfest in Bihar, with deputy CM Vijay Sinha alleging that the arrested prime accused in the case is linked with officials associated with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and demanded an investigation into it.

Refuting the allegations, RJD leader Manoj Jha said the entire story has been created to defame a government employee to save the big faces involved in NEET paper leak.

At a press meet in Patna on Thursday, Sinha claimed that Yadav's personal secretary Pritam Kumar was in constant touch with Sikander Prasad Yadvendu, the prime accused in the case.

Sinha alleged that Pritam Kumar used to provide accommodation to Yadvendu at guest houses in Patna and other places. "I have details of messages which the official had sent to the persons concerned for arranging accommodation for Sikandar," Sinha claimed. He added he has the mobile number from which those messages were sent. "It needs to be thoroughly probed. Why is the RJD leader (Tejashwi Yadav) maintaining silence on this?"

Jha told reporters in Patna: "Union education minister Pradhan gives clean chit and later pretends that there are some irregularities. What happened in Gujarat? In Haryana, in a BJP minister's school, six students from that centre are in the toppers' list... Other accused Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar have photographs with senior saffron party leaders. BJP leaders are trying to save the kingpin of NEET paper leak." He said Pradhan should resign and NTA should be abolished.
