"There are millions in India who are extremely concerned about what is going on. They are convinced that Indian examination system is fraudulent If you are rich and if you have money, you can buy Indian examination system, Opposition feels the same," Gandhi said.
"It is obvious to the whole country, that there is a very serious problem in our examination system. This is not just about NEET, but all major examinations in India," Gandhi added.
He took a jibe at Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and said that the latter blamed everybody but himself.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court was hearing petitions on NEET-UG 2024 controversy. The Chief Justice of India concluded that based on accusations of the petitioners, paper leak incident likely occurred around May 4. However, he pointed out that there is no evidence so far of a widespread paper leak. The top court was told by a counsel for NEET-UG aspirants that the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the prestigious exam, has admitted to paper leak and the dissemination of the ‘leaked question paper' through WhatsApp.
Pradhan informed the Lok Sabha that there has been no evidence of paper leak in last seven years in any numbers.
"More than 240 exams were conducted by NTA in last 7 years, more than 5 crore students applied, more than 4 crore participated. There have been incidents, this case is in SC currently. CJI is personally residing over the bench," Pradhan said.
