Need for improving ties with Turkey: Akhilesh Yadav

LUCKNOW: Emphasising on improving cultural and economic ties between India and Turkey, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said relations of the two countries depend on strong ties between people.

"India and Turkey have had good relations since a long time and both had influence on each other at social, economic and cultural level...relations between the two countries depend a lot on culture and lifestyle of people," Yadav said at the Silver Jubilee Function of Indo-Turkish Friendship Society here this evening.

He said, "It is important not only to improve relations with neighbouring countries but also with far off countries."

Speaking on the occasion, Turkish Envoy to India Burak Akcapar said there is a need to improve economic, political, social and cultural ties between the two countries and Turkey is working in this direction.
