Need for change in mindset for development in West Bengal: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari
KOLKATA: People of West Bengal need to change their mindset to create an atmosphere of development in the state, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said today

"Like Kerala, West Bengal needs to change mindset for creating an atmosphere of development," Gadkari said at a session of ICC here.

"If there is no capital investment, no job will be created and there will be no poverty alleviation as well," the Minister for Shipping, Roads and Highways said.

If the atmosphere of development is there, then projects are there which have good Internal Rate of Return, he said.

During the day, Gadkari met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and announced huge investments in ports and roads sectors in the state.

"We need support from the West Bengal government. We don't believe in politics in development," he said while assuring Centre's support in the state's development.
