NDMC demolishes illegal construction in around 40 properties

NEW DELHI: North Delhi Municipal Corporation has demolished alleged unauthorised constructions at 41 properties in the city over the last one week, the civic body today said.

All properties fall under the Civil Lines Zones and areas include Burari, Malkaganj, Swaroop Nagar, Kohat Enclave, Wazirpur Industrial Area, Pitampura.

At some places, illegally made walls have been demolished and at others portions of roof or columns extended without authorisation have been removed, a senior NDMC official said.

"This is part of our regular anti-encroachment drives, except that during Monsoon season we intensify it," he said.

Asked, if the NDMC has done its assessment of dangerous buildings, he said, "the report on the same will be soon made public".
