NDA's 1st year will be known for weakening historial steps: Congres
LUCKNOW: Attacking the Narendra Modi government, which would be celebrating its first anniversary on May 26, Congress today alleged that its first year would be known for "weakening historical steps" taken during UPA regime.

Talking to reporters, Congress national general secretary Mohan Prakash alleged that in its first year, Modi government had weakened poor, farmers and common men by curtailing their rights.

Terming the schemes and steps like MNREGA, RTI Act, Land Acquisition and Food Security, taken during UPA regime, as "historical", Prakash said, "in last one year, Modi governmet has weakened them".

He said that the Centre's attitude towards the MNREGA scheme was such that Tripura's chief minister had to stage a 'dharna' at Jantar Mantar demanding allocation of funds.

Referring to posts of Chief Information Commissioner and two Information Commissioners being vacant, the Congress leader said that similar was the situation with RTI and alleged that the Modi government was "conspiring" to abolish the act.

He also accused the prime minister for "degrading" the prestige and dignity of the country by criticising previous governments on foreign tours.
