NDA is an 'organic alliance', says Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been meeting MPs from NDA, said their alliance was an "organic unit", unlike the Opposition INDIA alliance which is an "assembled one". He said NDA will provide a stable government at the Centre while respecting regional aspirations and sentiments, sources said.

Interacting with MPs from north-eastern states on Monday, Modi said NDA, as an organised unit, will always take regional players along. Modi also addressed the BJP parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday morning and referred to the passage of the Delhi Bill in the Rajya Sabha, which the opposition termed as "the semi-final" (ahead of general elections 2024), and asserted that the results were there for everybody to see, sources said.

Talking about the no-confidence against the government, Modi said there was a lack of confidence among the opposition parties. "And this no-confidence would be like hitting a six on the last ball," sources added.


He also met parliamentarians from Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Goa at a separate meeting later in the evening.

During these meetings, Modi has been discussing a list of outreach activities with the NDA MPs ahead of the next Lok Sabha polls. Modi had suggested that the MPs must focus more on promoting the developmental and welfare works of the government instead of the Ram temple and abrogation of Article 370. At one of these meetings, Modi had suggested that Rajya Sabha MPs should try to contest elections.
