NDA govt will collapse, we will set up INDIA bloc-led govt, says Uddhav Thackeray on Shiv Sena's foundation day

Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday rubbished rumours of his faction joining hands with the BJP to support the NDA government.

Uddhav said that his party would never join hands with the BJP that tried to finish off his party. "We will never go with those useless people, they are trying to create a misunderstanding... This government has to fall. Elections have to happen again or we have to get the INDIA bloc to come to power," said Thackeray. He was addressing party workers to celebrate the Sena's inauguration day at Matunga.

The Shiv Sena under Eknath Shinde also celebrated the foundation day in Goregaon.


After a bitterly fought battle, the two Sena factions celebrated the Shiv Sena's foundation day which falls on June 19. While the Modi government came back to power at the Centre after the Lok Sabha polls, the Uddhav faction is treating the results as a win as they won 9 seats in the Lok Sabha polls when they didn't have their Shiv Sena name and symbol.

Chief minister Eknath Shinde in his speech in Goregaon, however, said, "We have a better strike rate than them, the UBT won 9 seats after contesting on 21 seats. The real Shiv Sena got 7 after contesting on 15 seats, we have had a better strike rate," said Shinde. The CM said that Thackeray had betrayed Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray by joining hands with the Congress.
