NDA announces Venkaiah Naidu as their Vice Presidential candidate

The NDA today announced Venkaiah Naidu as their candidate for Vice President. His name has been doing the rounds for the last few days. The opposition candidate is Gopalkrishna Gandhi.

He is currently serving as the Minister of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation and Information & Broadcasting in the Modi government. The move is also in sync with the larger goal of achieving a consensus among other NDA partners

Naidu has been touring various parts of the country with NDA's Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind.

BJP president Amit Shah said "The BJP Parliamentary Board unanimously arrived at the decision. Venkaiah ji has a lot of experience, all NDA allies have welcomed this decision", at a press conference in Delhi.
