NCRPB sanctions additional Rs 16.65 crore for Rewari

The National Capital Region Planning Board has approved an additional Rs 16.65 crore for construction of waterworks and improvement in the distribution system in Rewari district during the current financial year.

CHANDIGARH: The National Capital Region Planning Board has approved an additional Rs 16.65 crore for construction of waterworks and improvement in the distribution system in Rewari district during the current financial year.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has received special approval to allocate the additional funds for completion of ongoing schemes in NCR, said an official release on Tuesday.

About 90 per cent of the Rs 367 crore Bhakhra Main Line Hansi-Butana Multipurpose canal has been completed.

The state government will also take up a water facilities construction project to upgrade the distribution system which will be completed by October 2010.
NCRPB has recently approved another Rs 189.60-crore project for improvement and extension of water supply system in 8 towns including Rewari.
