NCP upset with Ajit Pawar over President rule
MUMBAI: Criticism is growing against NCP leader Ajit Pawar for hastily withdrawing support to the Congress-NCP government on poll-eve resulting in administration of the state passing to the BJP-ruled Centre.

"Ajit Pawar took the decision to withdraw support to the government in haste... It was a wrong decision. Now we have to take orders from Raj Bhavan or the chief secretary. Had we not withdrawn support, even if there was code of conduct, it would still have been the rule of the Congress," a senior NCP leader said.

A few hours after snapping ties with the Congress on September 25, Pawar had not only quit the cabinet, but also submitted a letter to governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, saying the NCP was withdrawing support to the government. Subsequently , President's Rule was imposed.
