NCP asks party workers to unitedly contest Maharashtra Assembly polls
THANE: NCP's Maharashtra unit chief Sunil Tatkare and state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar have asked the leaders of the party's Thane unit to shed their differences and come together for the upcoming Assembly polls.

Tatkare and Pawar, while addressing the party workers here last evening, expressed displeasure over reported differences between senior party leaders Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairman Vasant Davkhare and Cabinet Minister Jitendra Awhad.

During the rally organised by city unit of the NCP led by its president Manoj Pradhan, a close confidante of Awhad, the name of Davkhare was not mentioned in the invitation and banners.

Even Davkhare was not allowed to address the audience, owing to differences between the rival factions.

Tatkare and Pawar warned the party workers and leaders to desist from such practices, else face severe action.

Later, during a press conference also when this issue was raised by the members of media, the two leaders said they would try to sort out the differences among party factions and if it does not work, then action would be taken.
