Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said the authorities have cancelled permission for his programme in Sangrama area on Monday and that his colleagues have been informed that they will not be allowed to move out of their homes on that day.
Another former CM, Mehbooba Mufti expressed concern that workers of different parties, especially that of her People's Democratic Party, are being called and summoned by the respective police stations. This is "as if they know the decision will not be in favour of the people of J&K and that of the country, but it will just further the agenda of BJP", she said.
A 5-member constitution bench of the SC will deliver its verdict on a batch of over 20 petitions, challenging the BJP government's decision to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution and divide the state of J&K into two union territories, on Monday.
