Naxals had carried out 14 attacks during the two-day bandh called by them in five states starting May 18, government said here on Thursday.

NEW DELHI: Naxals had carried out 14 attacks during the two-day bandh called by them in five states starting May 18, government said here on Thursday.

The Naxals not just targeted security forces but also infrastructure such as railway tracks, tractors and trucks, telephone towers and even a Gram Panchayat buildings, a statement released by the Union Home Ministry said.

Five CRPF personnel and one civilian were also killed in the violence.

While West Bengal and Bihar reported five incidents of Naxal violence, Jharkhand one and Chhattisgarh three.
