Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday confirmed that Naxalites were planning to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that internet communication on this aspect has been recovered.

“We have recovered a lot of evidence in our raids on urban naxals. In this we have got internet communication where one frontal leader of the Naxal movement is asking his cadres to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi the same way Rajivji was also killed.” said Fadnavis in Mumbai while speaking to reporters.

He added, “ We have got a lot of evidences in the case, which would be presented before the court, let the police investigate the case, it would not be appropriate to speak more on the subject.”

He added that the central and state law enforcement agencies would crack down on such outfits.

Meanwhile the police is also investigating a letter written allegedly by Maoists to Fadnavis where they are threatening him in retaliation for the Gadchiroli encounter in which more than 20 Maoists were killed last month.
