NAGPUR: The Indian Navy was fully geared up to meet any eventuality in the wake of the 26/11 terror attack, a naval officer has said.

Like the Indian Army and Air Force, the Navy was also prepard to carry out orders from the governnent, Rear Admiral Kishore Thakre from the Naval Headquarters told reporters here on Saturday.

Thakre, when asked about escalation of tension across the border, said, "We are prepared for any given situation,"

He said India was in the process of manfacturing its first aircraft carrier ship at the Cochin Ship Yard to overcome the shortage in the existing fleet.

This will be first indigenous aircraft carrier ship in the country, he said.

To a question over the possibility of a conspiracy involving keeping the Indian Navy engaged in fighting Somali pirates while terrorists sneaked into Mumbai for the November 26 attack, the Rear Admiral said this angle had not been looked into.
