Naveen Patnaik files nomination for BJD president's post

Patnaik is all set to be elected as the BJD president for the sixth consecutive time unopposed. The election results will be announced on Sunday.

Naveen Patnaik files nomination for BJD president's post
BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today filed nomination paper for the election to the post of president of BJD of which he is the founder.

Senior BJD leader and minister Bikram Keshari Arukha filed two sets of nomination papers on behalf of Patnaik before the returning officer PK Deb at the party headquarters here. Arukh filed the papers with ten proposers.

Patnaik is all set to be elected as the BJD president for the sixth consecutive time unopposed. The election results will be announced on Sunday.

"I have received only one nomination paper from Naveen Patnaik for the post of party president so far, returning officer Deb said.

Patnaik is the founder president of the BJD, which came into being after the death of Biju Patnaik in 1997. Party's organisational elections are held every three years.
