Naveen elected as BJD legislature party leader

BHUBANESWAR: Mr Naveen Patnaik was on Tuesday unanimously elected as the BJD Legislative Party leader at a meeting held at BJD party office. Party secretary general Damodar Rout proposed the name of Mr Patnaik while four legislators seconded it.

Addressing the Legislature Party meeting, Mr Patnaik called upon the newly elected legislators to work selflessly towards the people ���who have reposed faith in us.��� ���You people have been entrusted the responsibility of serving the people and you must do it sincerely,��� he said.

Sources said the BJD chief is planning to take oath on Friday. ���Mr Patnaik has made up his mid to take oath on Friday. However, nothing can be said for sure at this moment,��� a senior party functionary told ET.

Meanwhile, chief electoral officer Alka Panda submitted the list of elected legislators to the governor.
