Nationalist Trinamool Congress merged with TMC: Amitabha Majumdar, president of NTC
With Mukul Roy getting prominence back in TMC, the members of Nationalist Trinamool Congress appealed to Mamata Banerjee seeking a ‘merger’.

However, with Mukul Roy getting prominence back in the party, the members of Nationalist Trinamool Congress appealed to Mamata Banerjee seeking a ‘merger’. The appeal was made by 117 members of Nationalist Trinamool Congress on February 12, the day when Banerjee addressed the party’s general council meeting.
Even though, Banerjee put it on hold for a couple of days, she finally agreed to take them back in TMC fold. "We are holding a core committee meeting today. And with everybody’s consent, we will write to the ECI requesting them to consider Nationalist Trinamool Congress as a part of TMC. We have now officially merged with TMC. TMC supremo has taken us back in the party," said Amitabha Majumdar, president of the Nationalist Trinamool Congress.
