National Lok Adalat settles around 30,000 pending cases

NEW DELHI: The National Lok Adalat, held in the high courts and other courts in the country today, settled around 30,000 pending cases.

The Lok Adalat, held by National Legal Services Authority ( NALSA), cleared cases of Motor Accidents Claim Tribunal (MACT) and insurance claims, besides the matters of several other nature, both pre-litigation and pending cases.

According to a NALSA statement, more than 10,000 pre- litigation cases and more than 19,000 pending cases have been settled in 21 state till 5 pm.

Besides, the parties were able to arrive at final settlements worth more than Rs 225 crore across the country.
