NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against 10 Hizbul Mujahideen members in a 'narco terror' case. It said that the arrest of Pulwama resident Hilal Ahmed Shergojr in Amritsar on April 25 lead to exposure of the drug racket.

The NIA charge sheet running into 14,000 pages alleged that Hilal was a member of the proscribed terrorist organisation Hizb-ul Mujahideen and an associate of Riyaz Ahmed Naikoo, then HM commander of the Kashmir valley. He arrived in Amritsar to collect Rs29 lakh.

"Investigation unearthed the conspiracy hatched by Pakistan-based HM commanders and their associates and terrorist gangs in Punjab to support and augment the terror infrastructure of HM in India by raising money through drug smuggling," the charge sheet alleged.

The accused had received at least six consignments of heroin through Attari border, which was smuggled in as rock salt granules imported from Pakistan. Part proceeds of the five consignments were sent back to Pakistan through hawala operators while a substantial portion was channelised to HM terrorists in Kashmir through a network of associates, the NIA alleged.
