The National Investigation Agency was today granted five-day custody of the three accused in the Burdwan blast case after the agency submitted before the court that sleuths from Bangladesh wanted to interrogate them.

KOLKATA: The National Investigation Agency was today granted five-day custody of the three accused in the Burdwan blast case after the agency submitted before the court that sleuths from Bangladesh wanted to interrogate them.

Chief Judge of City Sessions Court Mumtaz Khan granted the NIA's prayer for the remand of Sajid, Khaled and Hakim and sent them to custody till December two.

Hakim had been in judicial custody. The other two, Sajid, a Bangladeshi, and Khaled, who is from Myanmar, were also remanded in NIA custody for five days by the judge.

Counsel for NIA Shyamal Ghosh pleaded for police custody of the accused, saying the Rapid Action Battalion team from Bangladesh, which arrived in the city yesterday, wanted to interrogate them in connection with the blast.
