With seven years of experience in the judiciary, Loveleen is known to be one of the most dedicated young judges in the Delhi legal circuit. Though it was his predecessor, metropolitan magistrate Gomati Manocha, who had summoned the politicians as accused in the case, sources in the fraternity say that MM Loveleen has gone through the records of this case in detail and is all set for his second hearing in the case.
Loveleen, who hails from Karnal in Haryana, joined his present court in Patiala House Court complex on October 1, this year after serving two years in Saket District Legal Services Authority. On December 8, Loveleen heard the National Herald cheating case for the first time but all accused in the case, which included six persons and a company, did not appear in the court that day. All accused, citing various grounds, had sought exemption on that day and MM Loveleen had granted them the relief.
Before joining Delhi judiciary, Loveleen had spent some time in Haryana judiciary where also he was posted as a metropolitan magistrate, hearing criminal cases. Sources in the court complex say that Loveleen's dedication for his work can be gauged from the fact that he hardly takes any holidays. Loveleen is popular for his kind nature not just among his contemporaries and senior judges, lawyers also call him a gentleman.
