National Consumer Helpline receives 12,704 complaints in May; maximum from Delhi
The National Consumer Helpline received 12,704 complaints last month, out of which maximum calls were from Delhi
"The National Consumer Helpline (NCH) received 12,704 calls in May 2013," an official statement said.
With 2,873 complaints, Delhi tops the list followed by Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
In sector-wise analysis, product sector recorded maximum complaints of 21.06 per cent followed by telecom, e-commerce, weights & measures, NBFC, public distribution system, banking and education, the statement added.
In addition to the telephonic calls, 2135 complaints were also received through online complaint system on NCH website, it said.
Consumers from across the country can access the toll free NCH on number 1800-11-400 and seek telephonic counselling for consumer-related problems faced by them.
