NEW DELHI: National Commission for Minorities (NCM) today expressed dissatisfaction over alleged eviction of riot-victims from relief camps in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh.

Official sources said NCM is presently studying reports of its member, who had visited the victims, and local administration before deciding on its next course of action.

"We are not satisfied. We are studying these reports and will decide on our response in due course of time," its chairperson Wajahat Habibullah told PTI.

The commission, the sources said, has received complaints that riot-victims were forcibly evicted from relief camps they had been staying in by the state officials.

NCM has got the UP government's reply, which is said to have denied the allegation of forcible eviction, but it did not find the response to be satisfactory, they said.

The panel then sent its member Farida Abdulla Khan to assess the ground conditions on her own. She also met state officials.
