"On the one hand, Congress is part of the government delegation traveling abroad to present the Indian viewpoint on Operation Sindoor. On the other hand, its leadership is raising questions on the bravery of the Indian Army.Congress should clarify which side they are on. Whether they trust the Indian Army and the government or raise questions based on something going on in Pakistan," BJP media co-in charge and spokesperson Sanjay Mayukh told ET.
Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called the questioning by Rahul Gandhi unfortunate and said that the country should come before the party.
BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli said that this is nothing new for Congress as in the past the party asked for proof of surgical strike and Balakot.
Even in the meeting of the House panel, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri clarified that External Affairs Minister's remarks had been taken out of context in some political quarters. The conflict occurred in several phases, and Jaishankar was speaking about the later phases, Misri said.
