Narendra Modi will announce the portfolios of council of ministers on Tuesday

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will announce the portfolios of his council of ministers on Tuesday, a person working closely with him has told ET.

The source said that the names of the ministries allotted to the new ministers who were sworn in along with the PM at the Rashtrapati Bhawan today will not be announced tonight.

There has been intense speculation in the media about the portfolios, with several news channels claiming that Rajnath Singh will be home minister, Arun Jaitley will get finance along with additional charge of defence and Sushma Swaraj will be the external affairs minister, among others.

Forty six ministers, including 24 cabinet ministers and 10 MoS (with independent charge), were administered oath of office today by the President.
