Narendra Modi tweets to Tendulkar, Bachchan, Tharoor, SRK & others to promote voter registration

One such tweet sent to cricketer Sachin Tendulkar read, "Dear @sachin_rt lets encourage voter registration among 18-24 yr olds. Large number of them are unregistered. EC drive presently underway." He sent similar tweets to Kiran Bedi, Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan, Shahrukh Khan, Anupam Kher, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
The tweets also appealed to Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's Twitter handle @PMOIndia to encourage voter registration. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Sushma Swaraj were also asked to do the same.
Modi also tweeted, "Studies point to several eligible voters who are yet unregistered. Are you one of them? Now is the time to get registered ASAP!."
In a prompt reply both Shashi Tharoor and Kiran Bedi supported Modi's request. While Tharoor replied in a tweet by saying, "Dear @narendramodi Thanks. Good to have an issue on which I agree with you 100%. I have been urging young people in my constituency to do so," Bedi said, "(Sacred Duty)@narendramodi:lets encourage voter registration among 18-24 yr olds.Large no of them r unregistered.EC drive presently underway."

Last Sunday, BJP's prime ministerial candidate Modi asked youths to exercise their franchise for a strong and powerful government in Delhi.
"Do you want a self-reliant, strong and powerful country and strong government at Delhi?" he said, asking the youths to exercise their franchise judiciously.
"You must check whether you have the voting right," he said, urging ex-servicemen and youths to ensure that people in their neighbourhood are eligible voters and that they caste their votes.
"The right to vote is the biggest gift that our Constitution provided us," he said.
"Getting people enrolled for voting after attaining the age of 18 is a sacred work," he said.
