Narendra Modi to club deparments: Gujarat officials
NEW DELHI: In the first official confirmation of reports that PM-designate Narendra Modi is working on conflating related ministries, Gujarat government officials said he is making a “good beginning” by assembling these departments into “organic ministries”.

ET had reported in its May 21 edition that Modi may combine related departments to form super ministries In a press statement issued by Gujarat Bhawan here, officials claimed that Modi has made a dent in formation of ministries by following his professed principle of minimum government and maximum governance.

This would rationalise governance and alter the work culture, the statement said. “It is a good beginning in transforming entity of assembled ministries to Organic Ministries. It will bring more coordination between different departments,” Nilesh Shukla, a Gujarat government official said.
