Narendra Modi presides over e-griha pravesh of over 1 lakh beneficiaries in Gujarat
The PM, who is on a one-day visit to his home state, is slated to inaugurate a slew of projects in Junagarh and deliver an address at a university in Gandhinagar.
Modi, who is on a one-day visit to his home state Gujarat, is also slated to inaugurate a slew of projects in Junagarh besides delivering the convocation address at the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University in Gandhinagar. He will attend a meeting of the Somnath Trust in Gandhinagar before returning to Delhi later in the evening.
The Prime Minister held an interaction with the beneficiaries of the housing schemes across the state from Jujwa over video conferencing and went on to ask a lady if she had to pay any money to a middleman for availing the benefits.
Later addressing a large public gathering at Jujwa, the Prime Minister said that the beneficiaries are now getting every penny released in their name from Delhi and the the confidence that he has over the system thus emboldens him to freely ask the mothers if they had to pay anything to anyone to avail there share of benefits when the entire nation is watching.
“It is my dream, it is our endeavour to ensure that every Indian has his own house by 2022. Till now, we only heard about politicians getting their own homes. Now, we are hearing about the poor getting their own homes”, he said.
The Prime Minister also reiterated his vision to ensure a house for everyone by 2022, the seventy-fifth year of India’s independence on the occasion.
