Narendra Modi no match to Rahul Gandhi: Congress

Apparently unfazed by the Uttar Pradesh poll debacle, Congress today dismissed suggestions that Narendra Modi could be more than a match to Rahul Gandhi.

NEW DELHI: Apparently unfazed by the Uttar Pradesh poll debacle, Congress today dismissed suggestions that Narendra Modi could be more than a match to Rahul Gandhi in the next Lok Sabha elections saying neither the Gujarat Chief Minister nor any other BJP CM could equal him.

The AICC also asked Modi to first keep control over his state.

"Neither Modi nor any other BJP Chief Minister or the host of 15 to 20 Prime Ministerial aspirants in that party were any match to Rahul Gandhi," party spokesman Rashid Alvi told reporters.

Gandhi has always been projected as the future leader and potential Prime Minister by the Congress.

Supporters of Modi in the BJP feel that he could be the best bet for the party in the next Lok Sabha polls.
