Narendra Modi may contest parliamentary polls from UP: BJP secretary Rameshwar Chaurasia
BJP secretary Rameshwar Chaurasia on July 2 said that BJP campaign committee chief Narendra Modi might contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls from Uttar Pradesh, reports Our Bureau from Lucknow.

Speaking in Varanasi, Chaurasia who is the secretary-incharge of state BJP unit, said that Modi may contest the parliamentary polls from Lucknow, Allahabad or Varanasi. He said that while the decision is yet to be taken, the BJP is confident of an impressive performance in the state. Speculation regarding Modi contesting UP has been going around for the last few weeks.

Though, there has been no official confirmation, Modi himself has chosen to keep quiet on the issue.

UP has been the weak link in the BJP's gameplan to emerge victorious in the LS polls and the party is desperate to revive the state unit. Modi's close aide Amit Shah was appointed the general secretary incharge of BJP in the state, and Modi is said to be personally involved in preparing the strategy for reviving the party in the state.
