Narendra Modi government to revamp UPA's scheme 'Sankalp', may rope in retired babus
The MoS in the Prime Minister’s Office will chair a special workshop on Wednesday to counsel about-to-retire government officials .

To help retiring employees “transit smoothly to their 2nd Innings”, the Department of Personnel submitted to the PM a fresh concept paper to revamp a UPA scheme named ‘Sankalp,’ few days back.
The minister of state in the Prime Minister’s Office, Jitendra Singh, will chair a special workshop on Wednesday to counsel about-to-retire government officials on channelising their experience.
One of the suggestions in the concept paper made in June, accessed by ET, is to bring together “groups of like-minded pensioners and ministries which are looking for concurrent audit or evaluation of development schemes being implemented across the country.”
The new government in the paper has said that ‘Sankalp’ requires a “total change in mindset” of retiring employees. “Recognising that a retiring employee is very often unprepared to face the fact that he may be without a daily routine after he retires, the government is looking for ways to engage retired employees in meaningful social work,” says the paper.
