Narendra Modi flashes Ram Vilas Paswan, Bihar leaders sulk
Sources in the party confirmed that former cricketer and Darbhanga MP Kirti Azad was in his constituency and still didn’t make time for Modi rally.

Senior leaders of the state, including former state unit chief CP Thakur, Ashwini Chaubey, Giriraj Singh, Chandramohan Rai and Kirti Azad were absent from the rally. Of these, Singh had publicly termed the BJP’s alliance with LJP a “disaster in the making”.
The party was hard put to explain these absences. Sources in the party confirmed that former cricketer and Darbhanga MP Kirti Azad was in his constituency and still didn’t make time for Modi rally.
“Even Choubey was in Bhagalpur, where he is MLA and didn’t make it to the rally,” said the source.
Party spokesperson said: “Thakurji had some personal reasons for not attending the rally. As for Giriraj, his son has met with an accident which prevented him from reaching Muzaffarpur.”
Sources, however, say these leaders are upset not because there has been an alliance but because apart from Sushil Modi and MPs like Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Shahnawaz Hussain, nobody was consulted while negotiations were on.
“Not only were they ignored, but they also had issues with the fact that seats like Munger and Vaishali were conceded to Paswan,” said a top source in Bihar BJP.
