Narendra Modi condemns 'terror' attack in France

At least 80 people were killed on Thursday night when a large truck mowed through a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in southern French city, Nice.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today strongly condemned the deadly truck attack in France terming it as a "mindless act of violence".

He said India shares the pain and stands firmly with France in this hour of "immense sadness".

"Appalled by the horrific attack in Nice. I strongly condemn such mindless acts of violence. My thoughts are with the families of deceased," Modi tweeted.

"I hope the injured recover soon. India shares the pain & stands firmly with our French sisters & brothers in this hour of immense sadness," he added.

At least 80 people were killed when a truck ploughed into a crowd in the French resort of Nice in a a "terrorist" attack on revellers watching a Bastille Day fireworks display.
