Narendra Modi betrayed Andhra Pradesh, says Chandrababu Naidu
He accused Modi of betraying the people of Andhra on granting special status, building a new capital and other promises under the AP State Reorganisation Act, 2014.

Naidu urged the people to confer TDP with a landslide win in Andhra in 2019 so that the state could secure a special category status and the Centre would implement all promises made during the state’s bifurcation.
He accused Modi of betraying the people of Andhra on granting special status, building a new capital and other promises under the AP State Reorganisation Act, 2014.
“Four years back, at the same time and venue on the same day, BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had in the presence of Lord Venkateswara in this temple town of Tirupati given assurances to implement promises of bifurcation, special category status and funds to build a world-class capital city. He betrayed the people of Andhra, despite TDP maintaining restraint for four years as an ally,” he said.
Naidu alleged that Modi had turned arrogant and disgraced a l -lies because of the absolute majority BJP secured in 2014. He appealed to the people of Andhra to “elect TDP from all the 25 Lok Sabha seats so that we can decide on the prime minister and government at the Centre in 2019.” Naidu also urged the Telugu people in Karnataka to defeat BJP in the forthcoming assembly elections and teach it a lesson for ‘conspiring against the interests’ of Andhra.
Questioning the BJP-led NDA government for its ‘partisan attitude’ in releasing funds to Andhra and ‘non-cooperation’ on development, Naidu accused the PM of shielding fraudsters and scamsters for political gains.
“What kind of message is Modi giving to the nation by providing relief to the scam-accused politicians like Jagan Mohan Reddy of YSR Congress on attachment of assets?” Naidu lambasted Modi for ‘forcing’ citizens to ‘suffer due to cash crunch, bankruptcy, attacks on Dalits and sexual assaults on women and minors’.
Naidu said he was sure that the BJP government would resort to witch-hunting by slapping corruption cases against him, creating law and order issues and hampering development in Andhra. “I am prepared to face them and I appeal to the people of Andhra to be highly vigilant and thwart conspiracies unitedly. Let’s unitedly fight for our self-pride and rightful share in tax revenues and let us not allow development to be hampered at any cost,” he said.
