NEEMUCH: Critiquing UPA's power policies, Narendra Modi elaborated upon various problems holding back the coal power sector, and untapped renewable sources of energy such as hydro power in the eastern states, solar power in the west and wind power in the coastal regions of the country.

Modi alleged that since coal imports had increased due to unavailability of the raw material for power plants domestically, the current account deficit had gone high and value of the Rupee had plunged.
