BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting election-bound Karnataka for the second time in 15 days to address a rally in Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah’s hometown of Mysuru on February 19. The PM had addressed a mammoth rally in Bengaluru on February 4, where he had dubbed the Congress government in the state as a “10%” (commission) one.

The PM’s visit will be followed by BJP national president Amit Shah, who will be attending rallies across the state for seven days from February 20 to 28, with a couple of gaps in between. Shah will first address a “Navashakti samavesha” at the Sangh Parivar stronghold of Dakshina Kannada district, followed by a rally with fishermen at neighbouring Udupi. The sitting Congress MLA in Udupi, Pramod Madhwaraj, belongs to this community.

Shah will continue in his attempt to wean back these coastal areas which went to the Congress in 2013, by holding a meeting of local partyworkers and leaders, followed by another public rally at Kumta, also held by the Congress’s Sharada Mohan Shetty on February 21.
