Narayana Murthy meets Deputy CM with blueprint to develop engineering college in Mysuru

Infosys founder N.R.Narayana Murthy on Thursday met Deputy Chief Minister G.Parameshwara, and discussed upgrading the National Institute of Engineering (NIE) in Mysuru to world standards.

Bengaluru: Infosys founder N.R.Narayana Murthy on Thursday met Deputy Chief Minister G.Parameshwara, and discussed upgrading the National Institute of Engineering (NIE) in Mysuru to world standards.

One of the oldest engineering colleges in India, NIE was founded in 1946 by 16 people, prominent among them were three senior engineers with the government.

Murthy, an alumnus of NIE, has prepared a blueprint for lifting the premier engineering college to international standards, according to Parameshwara, who later briefed the media about the meeting.


Murthy also gave some suggestions on fixing issues related to Bengaluru City development, and requested government initiatives to developing Bengaluru into international standards.
