New Delhi: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) distanced itself from the newly appointed Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee chief Nana Patole’s threat to stop screening and shooting of movies starring Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar if they failed to condemn the rising fuel prices – something they had condemned when it happened during the UPA regime.

Maintaining Patole has already clarified that no Congress person will interfere with freedom of expression, AICC spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said the former was also pointing at the recent tendency of some celebrities to “service the sarkari (government) agenda” through almost identical tweets.
