Najib Shah likely to be appointed as new CBEC Chairman

NEW DELHI: Senior IRS officer Najib Shah is likely to take over as Chairman of Central Board of Excise and Customs ( CBEC), official sources said today.

Shah is likely to take over the position from Kaushal Srivastava who is retiring on June 30, they added.

Shah, a 1979 batch IRS officer and former Director General of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) had joined CBEC last month as a member.

CBEC consists of a chairperson and maximum of six members.
