Naga Pact in North East’s interest: Kiren Rijiju

GUWAHATI: Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju on Saturday ruled out the apprehension that the framework agreement between the government of India and militant outfit NSCN-IM will bypass the interests of north-eastern states that share a border with Nagaland.

Rijiju who was in Guwahati on Saturday expressed displeasure over the stand of the three chief ministers of Assam,

Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur, who have stated that they were not consulted by the Centre on the Naga deal, adding that they were doing so on the direction of Sonia Gandhi.

He added that the peace accord will help improve the security scenario in the region further.
