Naga-Kuki clash: Mobile internet suspended in Manpiur

GUWAHATI: In a precautionary move, mobile internet was suspended in Manipur as clashes broke out between two communities in Kamjong district headquarters. Prohibitory orders under 144 CrPC were clamped in the area.

Around 15 houses, vehicles and a fuel pump were set ablaze in the clashes. Additional forces were rushed to the area. Deputy chief minister Yumnam Joykumar led a team to the area.

“The order has been issued to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order and shall be in force for three days ," a district official said.


A senior police officer, who do not want to be named told ET, “Clashes took places between Kuki villagers and Tangkhul Nagas. ”
