NABH awarded to Narayana Hrudayalaya

The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health Care Providers Certification (NABH) was awarded to the private super speciality hospital, Narayana Hrudayalaya, by Karnataka Governor Rameswar Thakur.

BANGALORE: The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health Care Providers Certification (NABH) was awarded to the private super speciality hospital, Narayana Hrudayalaya, by Karnataka Governor Rameswar Thakur.

Narayana Hrudayalaya became the first hospital in the state to receive NABH accreditation, awarded for the delivery of the 'highest quality patient care'.

Speaking on the occasion, Gridhar Gyani, Secretary General, Quality Counsel of India, NABH said that it was truly a historic occasion for the state to receive the prestigious certification.

"It is not easy to comply to the accreditation standards as it is benchmarked on international standards. In all of 2007, only eight hospitals were awarded the accreditation" he said.

"We hope that his organisation will prove to be a role model to other hospitals in the country. I also hope that it becomes a Hub of Excellence in the country," he added.

Dr Devi Shetty, Chairman, Narayana Hrudayalaya thanked all the doctors and staff of the hospital for their hardwork.

He said: "we all have a dream to make quality health care affordable to the masses worldwide. I am happy that our hospital is the first in the state to receive this accreditation and I hope we continue in the same fervor to provide world-class service to all our patients."
